Anatole is dirty and has multiple rips.
The hairs are severly worn out and have disappeared in some places.
It also suffered some poorly made repairs with different colored threads.
The muzzle is crushed and has lost its volume.
He has no more eyes, no more ears, no more nose.
One leg is shorter than the other and comes with no foot.
First aid:
1. Dust and debris stuck to the fur, blown off with compressed air.
2. Body cleaned with a cloth very lightly dampened with micellar water.
3. Once dry, the fur is gently brushed with a small curry comb.
4. All repair wires are removed.
For this restoration I gathered some materials:
Vegetable coir for the body filling.
A mohair fur coupon to replace the ears
A mini velvet fur, light and soft, the same red as the palms and soles
Linen thread and cotton thread.
Old glass eyes.
Add padding to the bust then close the seam at the ladder stitch.
Torn or worn out areas, areas of friction are stitched to scale or mended.
A piece of mohair fills the tear in the lower body.
Insertion of natural fibre in the muzzle to restore its shape.
Added new ears in the watercolor tinted mohair to match the color of the head and cropped to simulate wear.
The truffle and the mouth are embroidered on the traces of the old locations.
Black glass eyes set.
The soles have been roughly patched up and a sock replaces the contents of the right paw.
After internal reconstruction of the two legs, with vegetable fibre, new soles, in a velvet of the same color as the old one, are sewn.
For the palms, the velvet is gently removed to transfer its shape to the replacement fabric.
For the palms, the velvet is gently removed to transfer its shape to the replacement fabric.
Stitched, reconstituted, cleaned, Anatole is up for a few decades.
